Not All Dreams Are As Improbable As They Seam

What drives me is that I simply know that “I can”. Such a small phrase carries an enormous meaning. Many times we become our own failures by setting excuses and fear as limitations as to why we can’t. Once I made up in my mind that I can do something, I then owe it to myself to see it through. This is not to say every attempt I made was successful however I’ve been successful in making those attempts to find out what is and isn’t for me. The only way to know if something will work is to try.

The biggest challenge I had to deal with and continue to deal with is life. Life is one of the few things in this world that doesn’t discriminate against race, sex, income, religion, etc. Life happens to us all and unfortunately when it does, the world continues to move on regardless if we are ready move on with it. I had to deal with my mother becoming diagnosed with Lupus, a passing of a close friend, legal issues, depression and just many life situations that were beyond my control. All of these situations occurred at a time while I was pursuing my degrees or in the midst of trying to gain financial and spiritual stability. Having a support system is essential throughout your life because reality is we can’t always do things by ourselves. Also remembering these hardships don’t classify who I am or my life. It is all temporary and remembering through God I have always found a way to get through difficult times.

In order to become affluent in your life, family, community or whatever you seek to have importance, you must make the commitment to seek change. Usually, we are moved when we no longer want to accept a situation for what it is. Once you determine that spark that fires you, act on that flame. Once you understand why you care and why this subject or change matters then figure out why others should care. Surround yourself with people who can support you and mentor you. Once you surround yourself with like-minded people, you should begin to develop a plan. What is it that you want to do and how are you going to do it? Be realistic with yourself and set goals with attainable deadlines. Stay focused and make sure you meet your goals. Document your victories and loses. We can never have just one plan because remember life happens. Based off your victories and loses determine what works and what doesn’t to create multiples plans as to how you can achieve your goals.

If someone was trying to follow the same path as me the advice I would give is to remember why you are doing what you’re doing. This will be the reason you are able to get through the good and bad days. Let your passion drive your success. It is hard to be committed and engaged in something that doesn’t live down in your heart. Once you truly believe something no one or nothing can change your mind. That does not stop them or things from trying but you know in your heart it doesn’t matter because it is something YOU believe in.

Overall there is no one path that leads to success. Everyone’s journey is going to be different and I don’t expect anyone to have the same journey as me. You have to find your own path on how to get to where you are going. You can use parts of other people’s journey’s to guide you but essentially you will have your own path to walk.
